When it ran, it was Albert Heijn's own meal kit for the Dutch market. It was built around recipes from Allerhande, the supermarket's long-running recipe brand. You didn't have to plan dinners and shop for each item. Instead you got the ingredients for a set of evening meals with step-by-step recipe cards, so there was less to think about on busy weeknights. Because it came from the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands, it used familiar Albert Heijn products rather than a separate supplier. Today ah.nl is a regular online supermarket. It still publishes plenty of recipes, including quick budget dishes with stated preparation times, but you have to find and add the ingredients to your basket yourself. There is no meal kit to order, and the site gives no sign that the box is coming back. If you want a box of ingredients delivered ready to cook, look at meal kit services that are still running. If you mainly liked the Allerhande recipes, they are still free on the site, and pairing them with a normal grocery order gets you part of the way there.
