- Property managers seeking a hands-off building amenity
What's in the box: Rather than a shipped box, you get a rooftop hive maintained by Alvéole beekeepers, regular on-site tenant workshops, branded honey, access to the MyHive platform and biodiversity data for reporting.
Alvéole is not a subscription box in the usual sense. It is a managed urban beekeeping program sold to building owners and property managers, not to individual shoppers. The company installs hives on the rooftops of office, retail, multifamily and industrial properties. Its beekeepers visit every three weeks to care for the bees and run tenant events such as honey extractions, beeswax candle making, honey tastings, guided hive visits and beekeeper Q&A sessions. Participating buildings also get branded honey, a digital platform called MyHive where tenants can see the event calendar, register and join a honey list, and biodiversity data meant to support GRESB sustainability reporting. Property teams get one dashboard to plan, promote and track events across a whole portfolio. Alvéole was founded in Montreal and has since expanded well beyond Canada. The site pitches the program as a tenant retention tool, and the property team does almost none of the work. Pricing is not published, so you have to book a call to get a quote. If you are a homeowner hoping for a beekeeping kit or a monthly honey delivery, this is the wrong service. If you manage buildings and want a recurring amenity with a sustainability angle, it is one of the more distinctive options available.
