Aqua Essentials Mixed Plant Box (Subscription)

What's in the box: A mixed selection of live aquarium plants picked by staff, generally favouring hardy species that grow without added CO2.

Aqua Essentials is a UK aquarium plant retailer based in Crediton, Devon. Its Mixed Plant Box is a selection of live plants chosen by staff, so you don't have to pick each one yourself. The shop focuses on hardy, low-tech species that grow without CO2 injection, which suits beginners and most community tanks. Plants come from specialist growers and new stock arrives every week. The range includes potted plants, bunched stems, tissue culture pots sold as shrimp safe, plants on wood and floating plants. Orders placed before 4pm on weekdays go out the same day, and most arrive the next working day. That matters a lot for live plants. Shipping starts from £4.99. The retailer reports an average score of 4.77 from more than 9,500 customer reviews. It also has published policies on damaged plants and snails, which is reassuring. The weak spot is how little the site says about the subscription itself. It does not clearly state how often boxes ship, how many plants each one holds, how the selection changes between deliveries, or how to pause or cancel. Check these points before you sign up, and give your tank size and lighting if you can. If you want to fill a new tank or refresh an established one without researching every species, this is a sensible, low-effort option from an established seller.
