What's in the box: Each delivery was built around Bambuhay's plantable toothbrushes, sent as replacements for plastic brushes.

Bambuhay's plantable toothbrush subscription has closed, and the bambuhay.ph domain now belongs to an unrelated website, so you can no longer sign up. When it was running, Bambuhay was a Philippine brand founded by social entrepreneur Mark Sultan Gersava. He started it in response to plastic pollution, deforestation and climate change. Its main product was a plantable toothbrush, which the brand called the first of its kind in the world. The subscription sent customers replacement brushes on a regular schedule so they didn't need to buy plastic ones. The brand described every purchase as part of a mission to eliminate one billion plastic toothbrushes and said it had eliminated 125,000 so far. Besides the subscription, Bambuhay sold through its own online shop, physical stores, e-commerce platforms and a wholesale program, and it pointed to media features and awards. The site did not say how often brushes shipped, what the subscription cost or how many brushes came in each delivery. You can't order or manage the service through its old website anymore, so treat any old subscription links or account details as inactive. If you want a toothbrush routine like this, look for an eco toothbrush brand that is still operating.
