What's in the box: A Beer Club box holds eight craft beers you probably have not had before, mostly from smaller European brewers and covering a mix of styles.
Beer in a Box is a Dutch craft beer service built around its Beer Club, a monthly box of eight beers chosen to be ones you have not tried before. The site calls the club flexible, but it does not spell out the exact terms, so check them before you sign up. The monthly picks lean toward smaller and up-and-coming brewers from the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. A recent lineup had a crisp blond pale ale from Big Belly Brewing in Breda, a New England IPA from TankBusters in Wroclaw, a hefeweizen from Anderson's in Tartu and a 9.2% tripel from Babeleir in Namur. You can also choose your own beers. If you would rather not subscribe, there are single boxes with no follow-up orders, gift packs and gift cards. They also run limited one-off drops, such as an exclusive box from Seoul Brewery, and group imports from overseas that only go ahead if enough people reserve a spot. You pay only if the import happens. There is a 24-beer advent calendar, which the site says is the last edition, and business gift boxes for companies. The homepage shows a live feed of members' Untappd check-ins, so you can see what people are drinking and how they rate it. The site is in Dutch and aimed at the Netherlands.
