Blacksocks is a Swiss brand that says it launched the world's first sock subscription in 1999. The idea was simple: never having to think about buying socks again. Jacob Rohner AG, a long-established Swiss sock maker, completed a full acquisition of the brand in September 2023, and Blacksocks and its subscriptions continue to run. The current site puts most of its weight on the regular online shop, with bestsellers, bundled sets and seasonal promotions. It also has a new range of Rohner socks that includes compression, work and diabetic styles. The core offer is still plain, dependable basics: calf socks, business socks and merino wool socks, plus boxer shorts, briefs and T-shirts. The brand says its products are made in Portugal from materials such as Pima cotton, merino wool and organic cotton. The range is deliberately small. That suits people who want a consistent black or neutral sock drawer rather than novelty designs. On the downside, the homepage says little about how the subscription works, such as how often deliveries arrive or how to pause or cancel, so check those terms before signing up. Some product labels also appear in untranslated German on the English site. If you value quality basics and want restocking handled for you, it is a sensible if unexciting choice.
