Ownership. PlantX Life (formerly Vegaste Technologies) completed its £8M acquisition in November 2020, and the brand still operates as a PlantX subsidiary.
What's in the box: A box typically contains a houseplant delivered to your door along with guidance on how to look after it.
Bloombox Club is a UK houseplant subscription that has been sending plants since 2015. It has changed hands twice: PlantX Life bought it in November 2020, and Bloomique B.V. took it over in October 2024. The subscription is still running, but anyone visiting the website right now will find a holding page rather than a shop. The page says the company is "repotting" and taking a short break behind the scenes to grow into something better, with no date given for a relaunch. It says over 200,000 plants have been delivered so far, though that figure comes from the company itself. Existing customers are not left in the dark: the page lists an email address and a London phone number for questions about orders and subscriptions, plus a postal address in Kington, Herefordshire. That is reassuring, but the lack of visible plans, prices or product details means new subscribers cannot easily judge what they would be signing up for at the moment. Two ownership changes in four years and a paused storefront also raise fair questions about how the service will look once it returns. If you already subscribe, keep an eye on your emails and contact the team with any concerns. If you are considering joining, it makes sense to wait until the full site is back and the current offer is clear.
