Club Cava Palacio is the wine subscription run by El Palacio de Hierro, the Mexican department store. You can only join if you hold a Tarjeta Palacio, the store's own credit card, and that rule will decide things for most shoppers. If you have the card, the club costs a fixed $1,800 MXN a month. Each month sommeliers pick 3 to 5 bottles, mixing national and international labels from different wineries, regions and grapes. The box comes with tasting sheets that cover tasting notes, food pairings and origin, so it works well as a home tasting course. Members also get invitations to tastings, pairing dinners and meetings with winemakers, plus discounts on wine products. Signing up is done online, costs nothing to join and has no minimum term. Shipping covers all of Mexico and is free in CDMX and the metro area. The site does not state shipping costs for other areas, and it does not say whether you can set preferences such as all reds or skipping a month.
