What's in the box: Each issue was a printed magazine built around one American history theme, with articles, illustrations, maps and activities for older children.
Cobblestone is no longer published as its own magazine. It was folded into Cricket magazine, and subscribers were moved to Cricket starting in March 2025. The Cobblestone page on Cricket Media's shop now sells the expanded Cricket instead. When it ran, Cobblestone was a print magazine about American history for readers about 9 to 14. Each issue focused on a single theme, such as a historical period, event or person. Issues mixed articles, illustrations, maps and activities. Families who homeschool, classrooms and curious kids at home all used it. Its main strength was depth: because a whole issue covered one topic, young readers got more context than they would from a general magazine. The new Cricket combines material from the former Cobblestone, Muse and Faces magazines with fiction, poetry and articles on science, technology, history, the arts and world cultures. It comes out six times a year. That makes it a broader magazine, so families who wanted focused American history will find less of it in each issue. Old Cobblestone issues may still help with school projects or reading at home, but you can no longer subscribe to Cobblestone on its own.
