What's in the box: Each box holds 3 to 5 artisan bean-to-bar chocolate bars from makers around the world, depending on the plan you pick.
Cocoa Couriers is a US chocolate of the month club built around artisan, bean-to-bar chocolate. Each month it sends a selection of bars from craft makers around the world. There are three main monthly plans: The Original Chocolate Box with 3 bars at $29, The Chocoholic Chocolate Box with 5 bars at $47, and a Vegan Chocolate Box with 5 bars at $49. You can also prepay for three months of the Original ($85) or the Chocoholic ($129), which costs a little less than paying month to month. Beyond the club, the site sells single estate bars on their own, offers chocolate gifts for birthdays, weddings and holidays, and has a blog and a Makers section if you want to learn where your chocolate comes from. The main appeal is the focus on small bean-to-bar makers instead of mass market brands, and having a separate vegan box is a nice touch. The big problem right now is availability. Every subscription option on the site is marked sold out, so you may not be able to sign up straight away. The site also doesn't say which makers or origins you can expect in a given month, so each box is a bit of a surprise.
