What's in the box: Bags of freshly roasted Coffee Bros. coffee picked from its blends, espressos and single origins.
Coffee Bros. is a US specialty coffee roaster that sells coffee by the bag. Its website's main menu also links to a subscription. Most of the company's pitch is about quality control. It says every coffee it sells scores at least 86 points, with some single origins above 90, and that it uses outside labs to test for mold and mycotoxins. It also says it cups thousands of coffees a year and has worked with its producers for more than five years on average. The coffees are split into four lines: Classics, Espressos, Single Origin and Modern. They are also sorted by flavor profile. At one end is Classic, with chocolate and nutty notes and low acidity. At the other are Adventurous and Modern, which use lighter roasts, rare varietals and unusual processing. If you are still working out what you like, this setup makes choosing much easier. Bestsellers include the Espresso Roast, the Dark Espresso Roast and single origins from Costa Rica, Colombia and Ethiopia. The homepage says very little about how the subscription works, such as how often coffee arrives, whether you can switch coffees, or how to pause. Check those terms before you sign up. Overall it looks like a solid, open roaster with a good range, rather than a box built around surprise picks.
