What's in the box: Freshly roasted Coffee Supreme beans, chosen from its espresso blends or its rotating single origin filter and espresso coffees.
Coffee Supreme is a well-established New Zealand roaster that started in Wellington in 1993. It also runs stores for Australia and Japan. The subscription draws on a wide range. On the espresso side there are blends such as Supreme, Boxer, Brazil, Organic, No.7, AM:PM and Kōrero Mai, plus single origin espresso coffees from places like Uganda, Ethiopia and Mexico. The filter range is a rotating set of single origins, with recent bags from Ethiopia, Brazil and Colombia, alongside the Big Joe Filter Blend. Decaf drinkers are covered for both espresso and filter, which many smaller roasters don't manage. Each coffee has clear tasting notes and a short description of its style, so it is easy to tell a sweet, creamy coffee from a dark, strong one before you commit. The site now sells prepaid gift subscriptions, which makes this an easy present for a coffee lover. The site does not say how often deliveries come, what bag sizes the subscription uses or exactly how the rotation works, so check the subscription page before you sign up. If you want a dependable roaster with a long track record and enough choice to keep things interesting, this is a solid pick.
