Cotton & Twine is a UK cross stitch club that sends a new design each month. The designs come from a rotating group of independent designers. Upcoming names include Hands on Designs, Heart in Hand, Stitchrovia, Little Dove and Historical Sampler Company, so the style changes from month to month. Each design is exclusive for six months after the month it is featured. After that it may be sold as a PDF for a short time. There are three ways to buy. The Original, from £20.00, is the full kit plus a wooden hoop and a few seasonal extras. The October box adds a Christmas fairy decoration, a chocolate stocking and an artisan tea bag. The Kit, from £14.00, gives you linen or aida, DMC threads, a gold plated needle and a coloured chart without the extras. The PDF Pattern Only option, from £7.00, suits stitchers who already have plenty of supplies. The site says there are no contracts and you can cancel at any time, and fixed term subscriptions are also available. It ships worldwide, and the site says tariffs on US orders are handled in the UK. Tutorials are offered for newer stitchers. The main drawback is that you do not pick the design, so you still get the box in a month you don't like the design. The site also does not list finished sizes or difficulty levels.
