Closed. This kids' archaeology magazine stopped publishing in 2014 and was merged with Calliope to form Dig Into History.
What's in the box: While it was running, each issue had illustrated articles on archaeology, ancient cultures and world history for young readers.
Dig is no longer publishing, so you can't buy an active subscription. Cricket Media's site says the magazine, which ran in its later years as DIG INTO HISTORY, has ended publication, though back issues are still for sale. The original Dig was an archaeology magazine for kids. It stopped as a standalone title in 2014 and was combined with Calliope, Cricket's world history magazine, to form Dig Into History. Cricket calls the magazine award winning and says it ran for nearly 20 years, introducing young readers to ancient history where 'world history and archaeology meet.' While it was running, each issue covered past cultures and excavation sites through articles and pictures written for curious young readers. The site does not give prices for back issues or say how they are delivered. If your child loves ancient civilizations, the archive could still be useful reading for homeschool units or school projects. Just know what it is now: a set of past issues, not a subscription that sends new content. If you want a magazine that still publishes new issues, look at other Cricket Media titles or other publishers' kids' history magazines.
