Ownership. Entered administration in April 2023 and was bought out of administration by a consortium led by former Asda CEO Andy Clarke, then reopened in phases.
What's in the box: Historically, British heritage breed meat such as dry aged beef, lamb, pork and poultry, though the relaunched range has not been announced.
Farmison & Co built its name as an online butcher from Ripon in North Yorkshire, selling meat from heritage and rare breed animals raised on British farms. Its reputation rested on traceable sourcing, dry aged beef and the kind of cuts you would expect from a traditional craft butcher rather than a supermarket counter. Shoppers who valued knowing which farm and breed their meat came from tended to rate it well. Right now, however, you cannot place an order. The website shows only a holding page saying the business is relaunching soon and is preparing something new, with an enquiries email as the sole point of contact. The site is now run under the name New Farmison Limited, which suggests the business has changed hands or been restructured. There is no information on what the relaunched range will include, whether recurring boxes will return, or when trading will resume. That makes it impossible to judge current quality, value or delivery. Our score reflects that uncertainty rather than the brand's past standing. If you liked Farmison before, it is worth checking back. If you need a meat box delivered soon, look elsewhere for now.
