What's in the box: Pre-measured fresh ingredients and easy recipe cards for the meals you chose that week, plus any desserts, sides or snacks you added.
HelloFresh is one of the best known meal kit brands, and its Australian service works the way you would expect. You pick recipes from a weekly menu and get a box of pre-measured ingredients with step by step recipe cards. The menu is broad, with 33+ recipes each week. These include quick dinners the site says can be ready in as little as 15 minutes, plus a newer range of balanced meals aimed at lower calories or around 30g of carbs per serve. You can also add lunches, brunches, desserts, sides and snacks, so the box can cover more than dinner.
Flexibility is a real strength. You can swap or upgrade ingredients, double servings, change your box size, move your delivery day and time, skip a week or cancel. Most of this can be done in the app. HelloFresh says it works with Australian suppliers where possible and sends exact portions to cut food waste. Even so, a box still comes with a fair amount of individually wrapped packaging.
The site lists meals from $6.36, but your real cost depends on plan size and add-ons, and extras can push the weekly bill up fast. Offers of up to $230 off are promoted heavily, so check what you will pay once they run out. Overall it is a polished, reliable choice for households that want variety and control more than the lowest price.
