HiFi Mycology – Grow Kit Club

What's in the box: A fresh gourmet mushroom grow kit for growing at home, though the site does not say which species are included or how often kits ship.

HiFi Mycology, also called Hi-Fi Myco, is a small mushroom company that runs its own farm in Austin, Texas. It grows its own mushrooms, bottles extracts in small batches, and dries and packs its powders on site. It says it uses no fillers, no myceliated grain and no outside suppliers. The Grow Kit Club is part of that range and is meant for people who want to grow fresh gourmet mushrooms at home. The site has grow kit instructions, which will help if you are new to growing. What the site does not explain up front is how the club works. It does not say which species you get, how often kits ship, or whether you can skip or pause a delivery. Check those details before you sign up. Most of the shop is functional mushroom extracts and powders such as Lion's Mane, Reishi and Cordyceps, so you will see a lot of wellness marketing next to the growing kits. Some of those health claims are marked with an asterisk, which usually means they have not been evaluated by regulators. If you want to cook with mushrooms you grew yourself, buying straight from a working farm is appealing. If you want a club with clearly published terms, you may need to contact the company first.
