What's in the box: A newsletter about one artist, two full page prints of their work, step by step project instructions and the art supplies needed to complete the project.

Homeschool Art Box is made for homeschooling families who want art lessons ready to go instead of planning them from scratch. Each box focuses on one great artist or art movement. Artists offered include Botticelli, Klimt, Michelangelo, Van Eyck, Matisse and Monet. You get a newsletter about the artist, two full page prints of their work, and a related art project with full color step by step instructions and the supplies needed. That makes it closer to a small art history curriculum than a pure drawing kit. If you mainly want to build sketching skills, the amount of drawing practice will vary from month to month. The monthly box starts at $45, and there are three month and nine month school year prepaid plans. Single artist boxes cost $55 to $57, so you can try one before you commit. If you already own art supplies, a lesson only subscription costs $16 a month and a digital download subscription costs $12, which are sensible cheaper options. Unused merchandise can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. The site does not state an age range or how many children one box serves, so larger families should ask before subscribing.
