Inkbox is not operating normally. BIC bought the Toronto brand in February 2022 and shut it down in February 2026. The founders made a bid to buy it back in January 2026, but no deal has been confirmed. The inkbox.com storefront still lists designs with add to cart buttons. Even so, we would not place an order or start any recurring plan until a new owner is announced. When it was running, Inkbox sold semi-permanent tattoos made with a plant-derived ink. The ink developed in the skin over about a day and faded on its own in roughly one to two weeks. The catalog was mostly artist-made designs. Small symbols like suns, bows, hearts and flames sold for about $7, and larger illustrated pieces ran from about $15 to $29. The site also offered custom tattoos and an artist community section, and it advertised free shipping on US orders over $50. The main appeal was trying out a tattoo idea, size or placement without a permanent commitment. Results depended on following the application steps carefully and could vary from person to person. If the buyback goes through, Inkbox may be worth another look. For now, shoppers should look elsewhere.
