Evanston locals, not subscription box shoppers

Closed.Began as a monthly subscription box in late 2019 and later switched to single-dish spice kits and an Evanston, IL shop (around Dec 2021).

What's in the box: When it ran, each monthly box was built around Indian spices plus recipes for cooking Indian dishes at home.

The Inspired Indian Cooking monthly subscription box is no longer running, so there is nothing to sign up for. It started in late 2019 as a monthly box for home cooks who wanted to make Indian food from scratch, built around spices and recipes. Around December 2021 the business dropped the subscription model. It moved to single-dish spice kits and opened a shop in Evanston, Illinois. Today the website mostly serves that Evanston location, which works as a restaurant. It offers vegetarian sandwiches, a supper club with complete Indian meals serving two to three people, catering, masala chai, and a local tiffin meal plan for pickup and delivery. Spice kits are still listed on the site, but the nationwide monthly box is gone. The sandwich menu draws on Mumbai street food, such as a Bombay sandwich with cumin-turmeric mashed potato and chaat masala, and the restaurant says Eater Chicago named it one of Evanston's best. If you live outside the Chicago area, there is no shipped subscription that replaces the original box. If you want a regular delivery of Indian spices and recipes, you will need to look at other services. The site does not say whether the old box will return.
