Kiekebox

What's in the box: When it was running, each box held a set of hands-on STEAM and craft activities for children aged about 4 to 8.

Kiekebox is not currently operating normally: its website at kiekebox.nl no longer loads, so there is no working way to order or manage a subscription. When it ran, Kiekebox was a Dutch monthly subscription box built around STEAM play and crafts for children aged roughly 4 to 8. Each month it sent a set of hands-on activities that mixed simple science, technology, engineering, art and maths with making and creative play. It was aimed at younger children who are not yet ready for more technical kits. The project was reportedly launched with the help of crowdfunding, which fits its small, independent profile. With the site offline, details such as pricing, delivery terms and how subscriptions were managed can no longer be checked. It is also unclear whether existing subscribers were told about any change in service. We do not recommend trying to subscribe to or pay for Kiekebox in its current state. If you had an active subscription, check your bank or payment provider for recurring charges, and contact your bank if you cannot reach the company. Families in the Netherlands who want something similar should look for a STEM or craft box for young children that is still shipping and has clear, current terms and contact details.
