What's in the box: Based on its name, boxes were built around kimchi made by the Kimika restaurant kitchen, but exact contents and varieties are not known.

Kimika Kimchi Club is not currently operating, and its page on Table22 no longer loads, so you cannot join it or manage a membership there. When it was running, it was a kimchi subscription sold through Table22, a platform that lets restaurants and independent food makers sell recurring boxes and memberships straight to their customers. As the name suggests, the club was built around kimchi from Kimika, a restaurant in New York City. Because the page is gone, details like how often boxes shipped, which kinds of kimchi came in them, and where they could be delivered cannot be confirmed. For people who like fermented foods, the idea had real appeal: kimchi made in a restaurant kitchen, delivered on a schedule, instead of a mass market jar from the supermarket. A small restaurant club like this also offered a way to support one kitchen directly. But with the page removed, there is nothing to sign up for. If you were a member, check your card or bank statements to make sure no charges are still going through. If you want handmade kimchi, look for a fermentation club that is still running, or buy from a local producer or Korean grocer. We will update this review if the club comes back.
