What's in the box: When it ran, members received a rented pair of sneakers from a rotating catalog, which they could later return and swap for another pair.

KYX World is no longer operating. The sneaker rental subscription shut down in January 2023, and the kyx.world domain is now a parked page with no service behind it. When it ran, KYX was a membership for US sneaker fans who wanted to rent pairs instead of buying them. Members chose shoes from a rotating catalog that leaned toward popular and hard to find sneakers. They wore each pair for a while, then sent it back and swapped it for something new. The appeal was variety. You could try many styles, including releases that are expensive or hard to get at retail, without paying full price for every pair. The company said it cleaned shoes before sending them to the next renter. Collectors and casual wearers who got bored quickly liked the idea. Still, renting shoes raised concerns about fit, wear and hygiene that some shoppers could not get past. Because the company is closed, you cannot join, rent or return anything through the old site, and any old account should be treated as inactive. Be wary of any page that claims to sell KYX memberships today. If you want sneaker variety now, buy from established retailers or reputable resale marketplaces.
