Lusitan Box has shut down. Its website no longer loads, and the lusitanbox.com domain now belongs to an unrelated shop. When we covered it in April 2017, it was a subscription box of olive oil and gourmet pantry goods, sold mainly to shoppers in Portugal. The idea made sense. Portugal has a long history of making olive oil, and a curated box let you try oils and pantry staples without tracking them down one shop at a time. We can't confirm the details of how it worked, such as how often boxes shipped, which plans it offered, or which producers it featured, so we won't guess. For shoppers today, the main point is that there is no working service to join. Don't enter payment details on the old domain expecting a Lusitan Box subscription, because the shop there has no link to the original business. If you once had an account or an active subscription, check your bank or card statements for leftover charges, and contact your card issuer if anything looks wrong. If you want Portuguese olive oil now, buy it directly from producers or from specialty retailers that are still in business.
