When it was running, Munchery was a San Francisco based food delivery service that brought chef-prepared meals to customers' doors, ready to heat and eat. It later added cook-at-home meal kits with pre-portioned ingredients and recipe cards. Its main appeal was convenience: you could pick dishes from a rotating menu and skip much of the shopping and prep work. It only delivered in a handful of US metro areas, not nationwide, and it had already pulled out of several cities before it closed for good. The shutdown came with almost no warning.
