What's in the box: A typical box held a curated mix of tabletop RPG material such as printed adventures or supplements, dice, maps and small accessories, often from independent publishers.

Mythoard is no longer operating. Its website no longer loads, the subscription has ended, and its Cratejoy listing has been archived. No official closure date has been published. While it ran, Mythoard was a US-based mystery box for tabletop role playing gamers. Each shipment collected gaming material, often from small and independent publishers, and the box was best known for its leaning toward old school and OSR style play. Subscribers usually received a mix of printed adventures or supplements, dice, maps and other table accessories. The appeal was discovery: game masters who already owned the big mainstream books could find smaller titles and creators they might never have come across. As with any mystery box, the contents could miss. A system you did not run or an accessory you already owned could make a month feel less useful, and the old school focus will not suit everyone who plays modern systems. Because the service has shut down, there is nothing to subscribe to, and you should not expect support or fulfillment for any past orders through its website. If you want something similar, look for an RPG box that is actively shipping and clearly lists what it sends. If you come across Mythoard boxes secondhand, judge each one on the individual items inside.
