What's in the box: A typical order combines Kit Oisix meal kits with prepped ingredients and seasonings, plus any produce, ready-made side dishes or pantry items you add from the weekly lineup.
Oisix is a long-running Japanese grocery delivery service built around what it calls premium time saving. Its best-known line, Kit Oisix, is a range of meal kits with pre-cut vegetables, prepped meat or fish and seasonings, designed to produce a main dish and a side in about 10 to 20 minutes. Oisix also sells refrigerated sets of ready-made main and side dishes that need little or no cooking, and 3-day or 5-day bundles that pair menu recipes with all the ingredients. The wider store carries produce, processed foods and snacks. The site says it offers more than 1,500 products each week to members and that its food meets the company's own safety standards. Ordering runs on a weekly cycle. New suggestions appear every Thursday, and a regular box is delivered unless you cancel or change it before the deadline. You can skip weeks without fees. Yamato Transport handles delivery, and you can change the delivery address for each order. Shipping costs go down as the order gets bigger, and small frozen orders carry an extra handling fee, so occasional light users will pay more per order. New customers can buy one-off trial sets, which the site says are not subscriptions. The service is aimed at households in Japan, and the site is in Japanese only.
