What's in the box: Two spice rubs, smoking woodchips or pellets, a local sauce or other flavouring, and recipe cards with how-to guides.
Pit Pro is a UK subscription built around its Spice Club, a monthly pack for people who want more variety from their barbecue. Each delivery brings two world inspired spice rubs blended by the company, smoking woodchips or pellets, and a locally produced sauce or another flavouring. Recipes and how-to guides come with it, and they are based on world cuisines, guest pitmasters or monthly themes. The site also points pellet smoker owners to a separate option, though it says little about how that version differs.
The format suits British buyers. Packs fit through the letterbox, so you do not need to wait in or sign for them. Every recipe is written to work in an oven as well as on a barbecue, which matters for much of the year. New subscribers get a welcome pack with guides on different ways to set up a barbecue. You can swap, pause or cancel at no cost.
At £9.95 a month the price is modest for what is mostly dry goods and printed content. The downside is that there is no meat or fresh produce, so you still do the shopping yourself. The site also gives little detail in advance about specific blends or allergens. For each renewal, Pit Pro pays for a school breakfast through the charity Magic Breakfast, which some buyers will appreciate.
