Moved. The old site now redirects to safeway.com. Albertsons, which bought Plated in 2017, ended the subscription meal-kit service in November 2019.

What's in the box: When it operated, a Plated box held pre-portioned, refrigerated ingredients and illustrated recipe cards for the dinners the subscriber picked that week.

Plated is no longer operating. Albertsons bought the company in 2017 and ended its subscription meal kit service in November 2019, and plated.com now redirects to Safeway's grocery delivery site. When it ran, Plated was a US meal kit subscription founded in New York in 2012. Each week subscribers chose recipes from a changing menu. They then received a refrigerated box with pre-portioned ingredients and recipe cards, so they could cook dinner at home without planning meals or shopping for each item. The menu featured chef-designed dishes that were often a bit more ambitious than everyday weeknight cooking, and subscribers could also add desserts. After the acquisition, Albertsons also sold Plated kits in some of its grocery stores, but the home delivery subscription was later shut down. You can't sign up for Plated today. The Safeway site that now loads at the old address is a general grocery store offering pickup and delivery. It is not a Plated meal kit service and should not be treated as a continuation of it. If you want a meal kit, look at services that are operating now, and check their current menus and terms directly with each company.
