Postman Pooch

What's in the box: Each monthly box contains new toys and natural treats tailored to your dog, with separate puppy, adult and tough chewer plans.

Postman Pooch is a UK dog retailer best known for its birthday boxes. It says it pioneered the dog birthday box in 2015 and calls it the UK's No.1. Subscriptions are only one part of a wider shop that also sells natural treats, KONG toys, beds and grooming tools. There are three monthly plans: Puppy and Adult at £24.95, and a Tough plan at £29.99 for dogs that chew hard. The site says each box has new toys and healthy natural treats tailored to your dog. It also mentions monthly themes and a Pick n Mix subscription, but the homepage gives little detail on how either works. The site shows a 4.8 rating from 2,069 reviews, which points to a fairly established business, though the homepage does not say where those reviews come from. The range is broad and changes with the seasons, with Halloween and summer cooling collections. It feels more like a gift shop with a subscription added than a business built around subscriptions. That suits owners who want an occasional birthday box or treat bundle as much as a regular delivery. Before signing up, check the plan terms, skip and cancellation rules and delivery costs on the site, because the homepage does not cover them.
