Ownership. Petco bought PupBox in November 2017, then sold it to FabFitFun in March 2024, and it still runs under its own brand.

What's in the box: Five to seven hand-picked toys, treats, chews and accessories chosen for your dog's age and size, plus a guide with training tips.

PupBox is a monthly dog subscription built around your dog's life stage. You fill out a profile covering age, size, gender, coat type and dietary restrictions, choose a plan, and the box is put together to match. The site says each box holds five to seven products, a mix of toys, treats, chews and accessories, plus a guide with training tips, recipes and ideas for bonding with your dog. The picks are meant to change as your dog grows, so a teething puppy gets different toys than an adolescent or adult dog. That focus on growth sets PupBox apart from more generic treat and toy boxes. It makes the most sense for new puppy owners who want some structure and a reminder of what to work on next. PupBox says its items meet its own nutritional standards, and it promises to replace anything your dog doesn't like, which lowers the risk of paying for a dud. Boxes are expected to arrive within 5 to 10 days. The brand has changed owners: Petco bought it in 2017 and sold it to FabFitFun in March 2024, and it still runs under its own name. The homepage doesn't show prices, so check the plans page before you sign up. Owners of older dogs with settled routines may get less out of the training content.
