What's in the box: Freshly roasted specialty coffee from RAW's range of single origins and house blends, roasted in Dubai.
RAW Coffee Company is a specialty roaster in Dubai. Kim Thompson founded it in 2007, and Matt Toogood joined a couple of years later. Both have lived in the UAE for a long time, and they grew the business with their own money. The coffee is roasted at their warehouse in Al Quoz. RAW says it buys directly from growers and cares about traceability and fair dealing. Subscriptions appear in the main menu, but the site's front page doesn't say how the plans work. Delivery frequency, bag sizes and whether you can choose your coffee aren't covered there, so check those details before you sign up. The rest of the range shows what to expect. There are single origins such as a washed Ethiopian Enaria, with notes of black cherry, nectarine and peach, and a Brazilian Campos Altos. There are also house blends called Working, Black Tie and Ritual. Dubai customers get the most convenient service. Delivery is free on orders over AED 300, and weekday orders placed before 11:30am arrive the same day. Delivery terms for other emirates are only in the shipping policy. If you sign up for emails, you get 15% off your first coffee order, but bundles and promotional coffees are excluded. RAW also runs a café, a training program and a wholesale business, which suggests a well-established company.
