Rooted Juniors (Bible Society)

What's in the box: A printed journal focused on one Bible book or theme, with 20 scholar written devotionals, a reading plan, prayer prompts, infographics and articles.

Rooted is a devotional journal subscription from Bible Society, the long established UK Bible charity. A new printed journal arrives every other month, each built around one book or theme of the Bible, with editions so far including Kings, Matthew and the Shema. Each issue has 20 devotionals written by Bible scholars and teachers, a reading plan with reflection questions, prayers and prompts, plus infographics, articles and some extra digital content. It is self paced, so you can work through it at your own speed rather than keeping to a strict daily schedule. The subscription works as a £10 monthly donation that also supports Bible Society projects around the world, and new subscribers are offered the David Edition free. There is an online community for sharing thoughts and questions, a companion podcast, and an option to gift a subscription. One caution: despite the Juniors name, the journal the site describes reads as material for adults and older teens, and the site does not describe a separate children's version. Families wanting something for young children should check with Bible Society before signing up. Because you are paying a charity donation, the price covers more than the journal itself, which suits supporters of the cause but makes it harder to compare with commercial boxes.
