What's in the box: Each box included calligraphy tools and supplies, a video lesson with handouts, and materials for a project to practice that month's script.
Script Kids Calligraphy is not taking new subscriptions right now. The site says it is paused while a new format is developed, and it gives no relaunch date. When it ran, it was a monthly calligraphy kit for children built around video lessons from Chantelle, a professional calligrapher who runs Bespoke Strokes Calligraphy and is a member of IAMPETH. Each box paired real tools of the kind professionals use with a video lesson, handouts and a small project to practice the new skill. The course covered several scripts, including Copperplate, Gothic, Uncial, Modern and Italic, using both pointed pen and broad edge tools. Plans ranged from $49 per box month to month down to $39 per box on a 12 box commitment. A $15 digital only option included lessons and handouts but no supplies. Boxes shipped on the 5th of each month with free US shipping. The longer plans worked as a course, so only the 12 box option covered the full range of styles. The site says the new format responds to customer feedback but does not describe what will change, so pricing and contents may be different if it returns. For now, families looking for a kids' calligraphy course will need to look elsewhere.
