Sorakami Sake Club

Closed. The website no longer works: it shows a hosting or server error instead of a shop.

What's in the box: Japanese sake for members to try at home, though the site does not state how many bottles or which styles were included.

Sorakami Sake Club does not appear to be operating at the moment: its website, sorakami.co.uk, returns a server timeout error instead of a shop, so there is no way to browse, order or manage a subscription there. When it was running, it presented itself as a sake subscription club for drinkers in Great Britain, built around sending Japanese sake to members on a recurring basis. The site does not currently state what a membership cost, how often boxes shipped or which breweries were featured, and we would rather leave those details out than guess. A specialist sake club can be a useful way to explore a drink that is still hard to find on many UK high streets, since styles such as junmai, ginjo and daiginjo vary a lot in aroma, body and price. That appeal does not count for much if the shop cannot be reached. If you were a member, check your bank or card statements for any recurring payments, and contact your card provider if charges continue without deliveries. We do not recommend trying to sign up while the site is down. Shoppers curious about sake would be better served by an established UK retailer or a subscription that is currently trading and can show clear terms, delivery details and a working customer service channel.
