What's in the box: Depending on the tier, a box holds Swiss chocolate bars, Swiss snacks and sweets, or a wider mix of Swiss foods and treats with a drink.

Swiss Food Box is a family business founded by brothers Dominik and Manuel Huber. It has been shipping since 2016 and is built mainly for Swiss expats and fans of Swiss treats. There are three monthly surprise tiers. The Swiss Chocolate Pack costs CHF 29.95 and holds five full-sized chocolate bars. The Swiss Sweets Box costs CHF 49.95 and covers snacks and sweets. The Classic Swiss Food Box costs CHF 69.95 and adds savory foods and a drink. The company says subscriptions are better value than its one-time orders. If you'd rather choose for yourself, there's also a large online shop with names like Ragusa, Cailler Branches, Kägi Fret, Aromat and Thomy. Orders go out every Monday. One-time orders ship from CHF 10 within Europe and CHF 30 elsewhere, but the site doesn't clearly say whether subscription prices include shipping, so check that before you sign up. Apart from the chocolate pack, the site gives few details on what a given month's box holds, so expect a real surprise rather than a set menu. Prices are in Swiss francs, which puts this at the premium end compared with general international snack boxes. For anyone missing the taste of home, the focus on real Swiss brands and the long track record are reassuring.
