What's in the box: A rented pair of glasses, which can include prescription frames and lenses, supplied through a monthly plan and fitted with help from a Synsam store.
Synsam Lifestyle isn't a box in the usual sense. It's a glasses rental plan from Synsam, one of the larger optician chains in Sweden. You pay a monthly fee to rent glasses instead of buying frames outright. Plans start from 99 kr per month, and Synsam says the service can cover all your eyewear needs. Synsam also sells prescription glasses, sunglasses, sports eyewear, contact lenses, smart glasses and hearing products, so the subscription is part of a full optician business. You can book an eye exam online and visit a physical store, which helps with prescriptions and fitting. The site doesn't explain on its main page what each plan includes, how often you can swap frames, how long you must stay subscribed, or what happens if glasses are lost or damaged. Read the terms before you sign up. Many of Synsam's current promotions apply only in store and can't be combined with other discounts, and the site doesn't say whether subscribers get them. If you live in Sweden and want to update your glasses regularly without a large upfront cost, this is a sensible option from an established chain. If you only replace one pair every few years, buying outright may be simpler.
