Tchibo Share is no longer operating. Tchibo, the Hamburg based coffee and retail chain, shut down the clothing rental service in October 2020 because it was not financially viable, and the website no longer loads. When it ran, Tchibo Share let shoppers in Germany rent clothes instead of buying them. It focused on baby and children's clothing, which kids outgrow quickly, and also offered some women's fashion. Customers picked items, wore them for a rental period and then sent them back. The clothes were cleaned and passed on to the next renter. The idea was to keep garments in use longer and cut the waste that comes from buying clothes that are only worn for a short time. It was one of the better known attempts by a mainstream German retailer to offer rental fashion to ordinary shoppers rather than a niche audience. Since the service has closed, you can't sign up, there is no customer support, and you can't rent or return items through it. If you want to rent or buy secondhand clothing in Germany, look at services that are still running and check their terms directly. Today Tchibo Share is mostly an example of how hard it can be to make clothing rental pay.
