What's in the box: Instead of a shipped box, you get professionally installed beehives with ongoing care by local beekeepers and portal access, plus optional extras like branded honey and events.
Best Bees is not a subscription box in the usual sense. It is a managed beekeeping service that installs and maintains beehives on your property. It is aimed mainly at companies, building owners and property managers, not individual hobbyists. You start with a property assessment, where the team chooses hive placement. Then you build a program with optional add-ons such as events, branded honey, gifts and giveaways. The company's own local beekeepers install and care for the hives. It does not use outside contractors.
Every program includes a Client Portal with hive health updates, beekeeper notes, biodiversity and pollinator insights, and reports you can share with tenants or staff. The company presents its hives as biomonitors that feed a standardized bee health database. That data may help with ESG reporting, and the company says the hives can support LEED points and other green building certifications.
A Ph.D. biologist founded Best Bees in 2010. It is owned and operated in the US and describes itself as LGBTQ-owned and women-led. It claims the highest hive survival rates in the industry, but the site does not back that up with figures. Pricing is not listed, so you have to book an assessment to get a quote. If you want to keep bees yourself or get monthly supplies, look elsewhere. If you want someone else to run hives for you, this is a serious, science-led option.
