The Good Roll

What's in the box: A delivery of bamboo toilet paper, and if you choose them, bamboo kitchen rolls or tissues.

The Good Roll is a Dutch brand that sells bamboo toilet paper. It also offers bamboo kitchen rolls, tissues and individually wrapped toilet rolls. You can buy them as one-off orders or start a subscription so your household paper arrives on a regular schedule. The toilet paper is brown, and the brand jokes that this is because there is no "sh*t" in it. That suggests the paper is not bleached white. Each roll has 300 sheets, so it should last a bit longer than a typical supermarket roll. The social mission is a big part of the brand: the company says every roll helps fund safe, clean toilets in Ghana. It also runs a foundation, has its own factory page and offers bonds and shares to people who want to invest. Orders placed before 15:00 are promised next working day delivery, and the site shows a 4.7 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot. The site does not clearly state subscription prices or delivery frequency options up front, so check those before you sign up. The range is deliberately narrow. This is paper goods only, not a wider zero waste kit. If you want an easy, recurring swap for one of the most used items in your home, it is a sensible choice.
