What's in the box: There is no recurring box; a starter kit pairs a live SCOBY culture and starter liquid with the equipment and ingredients needed to brew a first batch at home.
The Kombucha Shop is a US-based online store that sells kombucha brewing kits, live cultures, flavoring syrups and brewing supplies. It is not a subscription box in the usual sense. The site does not advertise a recurring delivery. You buy what you need once, and you can sign up for a free monthly newsletter with brewing tips, recipes and discounts. If you want a box that arrives every month, this isn't one. The main product is the Kombucha Brewing Kit at $54.99. The Deluxe Kombucha Brewing Kit costs $89.99 and is meant for people who want a fuller setup. A SCOBY and starter liquid costs $15.00 on its own, which helps if your culture fails or you want to run a second jar. Add-ons include a $30.00 heating wrap for keeping brews warm in cool kitchens, a raspberry syrup, and a syrup variety pack. The site says a batch takes about 9 to 12 days, and it supports beginners with a Q&A section and a recipe library. If you drink kombucha regularly, the appeal is clear: one kit keeps producing for a long time. What you get out of it later depends on how well you look after the culture, and you will restock basics like tea and sugar on your own. E-commerce entrepreneur Habib Bakshi has owned the business since January 2021.
