What's in the box: A boxed case file of physical clues and puzzles, used alongside an online hub where you question characters and enter answers.

The Detective Society makes boxed mystery games to play at home. It is run by Damfino Productions Ltd, a UK company. The shop sells individual games and bundles rather than a monthly plan, so check whether a subscription option exists before you expect regular deliveries. Each game mixes physical case material with an online part where you can talk to characters and explore a digital world. The site says there are no rules to learn: you open the box and start investigating. The puzzles are in the style of escape rooms and are built into a crime story. Current titles include Murder On The Moon, Countdown To Chaos and a Family Adventures game. There is also a section of partner games from outside designers. A new game, Disaster on Dino Island, was funded on Kickstarter and is due in 2026, so the studio is still active and releasing new cases. The site aims its games at families, couples on date nights and escape room fans, and the family line gives younger players a way in. The shop may show prices in a currency other than pounds, so check before you buy. The site does not talk about replay value. As with most mystery games, once a case is solved there is little reason to play it again.
