What's in the box: When it operated, a box typically held materials and illustrated instructions for several themed craft, building and simple science activities for young children.

Tollabox is no longer operating. The German company filed for insolvency in February 2015 and shut down in May 2015 when no buyer came forward, and its website no longer loads. You cannot order a box, and you should not try to pay for one through any old link or third party offer. When it was running, Tollabox was a Berlin based subscription service for families with young children. Each delivery held a themed set of hands-on projects, such as crafts, simple experiments and building tasks. The idea was to give parents a ready made way to spend focused, screen free time with their kids, with the materials and instructions already gathered. The service aimed at preschool and early primary ages and leaned toward learning through play rather than formal lessons. Its main market was Germany, and the instructions and packaging were in German. If you are looking for something like this today, choose a kids activity or STEM subscription that is currently trading. Check that its website works, that it ships to your country, and that its cancellation terms are clear before you sign up. Tollabox itself is best remembered as one of the early German entries in this category.
