Riley is an Irish period care brand started by two friends, Fiona and Áine. It sells organic cotton tampons, pads and pantyliners, and you can buy them once or on a subscription. The range is simple. Applicator tampons come in boxes of 12 in Light, Regular, Super and Super+. Non-applicator tampons come in boxes of 12 in Light, Regular and Super. Pads come in boxes of 12 in Regular and Super, and light pantyliners come in boxes of 24. Prices run from €5.69 a box for non-applicator tampons up to €9.99 for liners. That costs more than supermarket own brands but is about what you would expect for organic period care. Everything is made in the EU from 100% organic cotton, and Riley says its products are made without chlorine bleach, fragrances, viscose or rayon. The applicators are plastic made from sugarcane, not cardboard. Riley is a certified B Corp and gives 1% of every purchase to fight period poverty. The site does not say exactly how much you save by subscribing. Shipping is free on orders over €50 or £45, so a small order may come with a delivery charge. Much of the marketing plays on fears about conventional products, so read those claims with some caution. As an easy way to restock the basics from an ethical company, it works well.
