Closed. The quarterly AstroBox ended when the business became the Mile High Astronomy telescope store; date unknown.
What's in the box: The site no longer lists what came in a box, but it was a quarterly delivery about astronomy and space.
AstroBox has shut down. Mile High Astronomy ended its quarterly astronomy subscription box, and the company now runs as a telescope store in Lakewood, Colorado. When it was running, AstroBox shipped every three months to people interested in astronomy and space. The site no longer describes the box, so it does not say what came in it, what it cost, or when it stopped shipping. If you want a recurring astronomy box, you will need to look elsewhere.
The business that remains is a specialist retailer. Mile High Astronomy sells smart telescopes from ZWO and DwarfLab, Celestron NexStar SE computerized telescopes, Askar astrographs and filters, star trackers from Sky-Watcher and iOptron, ZWO mounts, and Tele Vue eyepieces. It has a physical shop on West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood that is open Tuesday through Saturday, a toll-free phone line, and a short beginner's guide to choosing a telescope. It also has a free email newsletter with promotions, tips, and astronomy news. That newsletter is the closest thing to a regular delivery the company still offers.
If you liked the surprise and learning that come with a subscription box, the store won't replace that. If you're ready to buy real observing or astrophotography gear, especially near Denver, the shop may be worth a visit.
