What's in the box: Each issue paired a magazine about the Apollo program with a batch of parts toward a scale model of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module.

DeAgostini's Build the Apollo 11 Lunar Module is no longer running, and the old DeAgostini site now redirects to Fanhome, which shows no sign of this model among its collections. The series launched in the UK as a test partwork in September 2018, ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing in July 1969. Like other DeAgostini partworks, it was sold as a build-up subscription. Each issue brought a magazine and a set of parts, and over time subscribers would assemble a detailed model of the lunar module. Production delays hit the project, and by July 2019, the anniversary it was meant to mark, it appeared to have been abandoned. Anyone who subscribed may have been left with an unfinished model. Fanhome, the brand now at the old address, focuses on licensed build-up kits such as cars, motorbikes and Star Wars and Star Trek ships, sent monthly with collectible magazines. Nothing on its site points to an Apollo or space collection. If you own early issues, treat them as a partial kit that is unlikely to be completed. Space fans who want a lunar module model today will need to look elsewhere.
