What's in the box: Shipments were mainly nutrient pods and refills made to feed plants in the Grobo grow box.
Grobo is no longer operating. The Canadian company shut down in 2022, and its web address now leads to a page offering the domain for sale. When it was running, Grobo sold an enclosed, app connected grow box that let people raise plants indoors with very little hands on work. The cabinet took care of lighting and feeding on its own, and owners kept it running with nutrient pods that the company sold on a recurring basis. That was the subscription side of the business. The appeal was convenience: you picked a plant, followed the app, and let the machine handle the daily routine. The weakness of that model became clear when the company closed. A grow box that depends on its maker's own nutrients and companion app only works as long as the maker stays in business. With Grobo gone, there is no official source for refills, support or warranty service. Current owners may be able to keep a unit going with generic hydroponic nutrients and manual care, but they should not expect any help from the company. If you want an indoor growing subscription today, look at services that are still trading and that use standard, widely available supplies, so the hardware stays useful if the company closes.
