Ownership. Bazaarvoice acquired Influenster in August 2019, and it still sends VoxBoxes.
What's in the box: A VoxBox holds free products from one or more brands, often full size, matched to your profile and spanning categories like beauty, personal care, food and household goods.
Influenster is a free product sampling program owned by Bazaarvoice, the review platform company that acquired it in 2019. There is no fee and no fixed schedule. You sign up, build your profile in the app, and review products you already use. Influenster uses that information to choose who gets invited to receive a VoxBox, a package of free products from brands that want honest opinions. In return, you are expected to try the items and post reviews. The categories are broad: beauty, personal care, grocery, beverages, pets, home, health, new parent items, toys and more. That variety is a real plus, because you are not limited to makeup samples. The catch is that nothing is guaranteed. Invitations depend on your profile and activity, boxes can be infrequent, and you cannot choose what arrives. The site does not say how often boxes go out. Be clear about the trade, too. You are giving brands your opinions and personal preferences, and your reviews are expected to note that the products were complimentary. If you enjoy writing reviews and like surprises, it costs nothing to join. If you want a dependable monthly box, look elsewhere.
