JQ Editions is a historical romance book subscription curated by Julia Quinn, the author of the Bridgerton series. Every other month, subscribers get one historical romance that Quinn has picked and labeled #JQApproved. The books are collector-style hardcovers with no dust jacket, custom illustrated endpapers and sprayed edges. Quinn says she works closely with each illustrator so the art suits the story and respects the author, and she promises no AI-generated art. The 2026 lineup includes The Last Lady B by Eloisa James, An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole and Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. That is a strong mix of established authors and well-loved titles, and Lord of Scoundrels is widely seen as a classic of the genre. The main drawback is access. The 2026 subscription was sold only through a Kickstarter campaign that ended March 27, 2026, and the site says the offerings would change after that. It does not clearly explain how to sign up now or what a future subscription would cost. One book every two months is also a slow pace if you read a lot.
