Literati

What's in the box: A small selection of children's books matched to your reader's age and level, which you can keep or return.

Literati began as a book subscription and has grown into a broader children's education business. Its website now leads with school book fairs and an online School Store, but monthly book clubs for kids remain a core offering, with both family and educator plans listed. The site says plans start at $11.95. The club works on a try before you buy model: each box brings a selection of books chosen for your child's age and reading level, and you keep the ones you want and send the rest back. That suits families who want a steady stream of new titles without committing to buy every book, and it can introduce children to authors they might not find on their own. The site also offers reading level guides and curated lists of popular kids' books to help parents choose. The main thing to understand is that the plan price is not the whole cost. Books you keep are charged on top, so monthly spending depends on how many titles your child holds onto, and families need to keep up with returns. Literati's growing focus on school fundraising also means the home club is now one part of a larger business. Adults hoping for a club of their own should note the site is centered on children's reading.
